Improving the lives of Zambians affected by HIV and AIDS

Reaching HIV/AIDS Affected People with Integrated Development and Support (RAPIDS) is a consortium of six NGO’s, World Vision (lead agency) Africare, CARE, CRS, Expanded Church Response, and The Salvation Army. This five year program is funded through a $57 million investment by the U.S. Government under the President’s Emergency Plan for HIV/AIDS.

Through RAPIDS the various strengths and expertise of our partners are leveraged to help each organization improve and expand their ability to care for orphans and vulnerable children, people living with HIV and AIDS and provide youth livelihood and abstinence promotion activities.

HIV and AIDS may infect individuals, but it affects households. This understanding enables RAPIDS to provide services to the households in a much more holistic way that addresses not only the effects of HIV/AIDS, but the causes as well.
JudithThe heart and soul of RAPIDS are our 18,500 trained and equipped volunteer caregivers.
